Satellit 2011

For a long time now I’ve been dreaming of organizing a Nordic meeting place for the young audiences. And now, in the form of a Nordic dance festival for children and young audiences, that dream will come true.
In March, the western parts of Sweden will be filled with dance performances and on March 17th we launch a four-day festival weekend in Gothenburg full of dance performances, seminars and what we hope will be rewarding exchanges and meetings. It is with great joy and pride that we present eight very different performances both thematically as well as in artistic expression for a range of various ages.

My wish is to inspire you and to make you want to see more dance. I want you to discover these amazing dance performances that are being produced and shown for children and young adults in the Nordic countries. Allow yourself a chance to discover the art form of dance! Ask questions, talk and above all, experience! Claim your own personal experience and allow the young audiences to do the same.

I am also delighted by the fact that, in order to further strengthen this art form in a long-term perspective, we will form a Nordic network for dance for children and young audiences during Satellit.

I look forward to seeing you – audiences of all ages – here in Gothenburg where we can meet, talk and above all see… magical, comical, serious and poetical dance performances.
